Funny Fiasco – 23

Due to internet problem I could not post in the last fortnight, sorry for the inconvenience.

Continued from previous post –

Khopkar tells the three, “We have to go to our hotel to attend a very important assignment so please follow me.” And shoves out of that hotel in a hurry.

They all four, come on the road then cross the road to come on the side where Kismis is located and now enter the compound of Kismis and there Khopkar gets other tip from other informer that Anant and Nilu are trying to get into the car of Anant parked at the back side yard of the hotel. This really panics Khopkar and he hurriedly starts to run to reach the spot. As he starts to run the other three also follow by simple intuition and they all reach to Anant’s car where Anant was about to enter the car along with Nilu. Nilu looks very pale and stands without any expression on her face like a statue. Actually she does not know what was happening and she was simply following Anant as women often do when men order them to do. Khopkar least bothered about Anant calls Damu and tells him, “See this is Nilu.” Damu is overwhelmed by her beauty and curses himself for not thinking of her. Damu looks very much ashamed. Khopkar asks everybody to sit in that car whereas he sits in the driver seat. Anant sitting next to Nanasaheb and Shridhar while Damu and Nilu sitting in the front next to Khopkar and they move out to Manorama’s house. Anant is speechless follows Khopkar’s instruction like a defeated soldier. Anant was shocked and surprised to see the courage Khopkar was showing throughout the operation. His face was that of imprisoned criminal. In faint voice, he asks Khopkar why we are going there? Khopker does not bother to reply his boss as if at that moment he was boss and Anant a nobody.

Manorama’s house

All have gathered; Manorama, Anjali are busy preparing for some party and Rashmi and Rahul are helping them. It looks like a simple get together.

Khopkar, Anant, Damu, Nanasaheb and Shridhar enter with Nilu holding Damu’s hand. They enter one by one and collect in the drawing room. Anant looks frightened and completely powerless avoiding looking at Manorama and Anjali. While both the ladies appear in a very joyous mood.

Khopkar asks politely to Anant, “So how do you like Shridhar as your son-in-law?”

Anant is so dejected that he simply tells Khopkar that, “I have no objection to Rashmi wed Shridhar if Manorama and Rashmi want it that way.” On that Rashmi blushes looking to Shridhar from the corner of her eyes.

“Today two engagements are to be solemnized,” says Khopkar and calls Nilu and Damu to come near him and tells everybody that here Nilu weds Damu.

Every body is rejoicing over it and the party begins but Anant is still not comfortable he declares to Manorama,

“Manorama, I am sorry, I betrayed you but that was not to betray but I do not know how these things happen with me!”

Manorama tells him, “I knew about your second marriage from the beginning, Pandurang had told me and I had accepted Anjali but we had decided to keep it a secret to find out what you keep doing. Nice that, you did not try to elope with one more girl.”

On this Khopkar could not help laughing and tells Manorama, “Tai, you do not know but today Anant was trying to elope with this Nilu, can you imagine?”

All look to Anant, stunned.

Anant looks to Khopkar furiously while Khopkar is having a winning smile.
