Funny Fiasco – 22

Continued from previous post –

Khopkar gathers from the behavior of Damu that Damu is in his control. Now to control Anant he has the final weapon the “Will” of Dadasaheb Bhadkamkar.

Khopkar calls Anant and asks him has he changed his mind about Rashmi and Shridhar or not? The call blows Anant and he shouts at Khopkar asking him to mind his level. Khopkar tells him, “My dear friend I know my level but now time has come to show you your level.”

“What do you mean?” demands Anant

“If you do not agree your secret will be opened and you know your level after that? Am I correct?”

“You scoundrel.” Anant screams, shaking his both hands violently.

“Now listen, if you do not accept my offer of Shridhar to Rashmi your secret is open. Your time is up to 5 pm today.” Khopkar cuts the phone. He does not want to hear all the bad slangs Anant is going to spit.

Anant’s chamber in the hotel. Balcony is open and through that he could see the balcony of Nilu’s suite. Anant is in a very pensive mood does not know what to do. He knows that Khopkar will really open his secret to Manorama and that is the end of it. He is shown to be thinking of something and at that moment door of the suite of Nilu's room opens and Nilu comes in the balcony. Anant happens to see her and true to his nature, he forgets his worries and keeps admiring the loveliness of Nilu. He sees that Nilu is not in a good mood and after some time suspects that this girl is trying to jump out of the balcony. However, because, the parapet wall is high enough she cannot do it but then that is very dangerous, he spontaneously gets out of his chair and swiftly moves to get the second key to that suite and runs. Anant opens the door of the suite and enters, comes in the balcony and holds her soft fleshy arm. There Nilu realizes that some body has come near her. She starts to cry. She tells this stranger to her, who has come to stop her from doing suicide, “do not want to live. My marriage is on the rock. The man with whom I was betrothed has betrayed me. Anant spontaneously speaks to her that she need not kill herself for that I will marry you and here we shall move away so that you and I can marry and live very happily. Nilu looks to him and ask who are you? Anant tells her I am owner of this hotel. Now Anant makes a quick plan to elope with Nilu since he feels that as Manorama comes to know of my marriage with Anjali as it is I will be thrown out then why not quit with this beautiful girl and make a new beginning! Anant had built two other hotels in Konkan at Malwan of which Khopkar and Damu had no idea.

They rush in side the room and he asks her to collect her things quickly. Nilu tells him this is my bag, he picks it and they move out of the room. He comes out of the room with Nilu and sees everywhere to find if anybody is watching he does not find any one but one room attendant boy Tony, was stealthily watching him. Khopkar had posted a few confidantes all over the hotel since he knew that Anant is definitely going to do something unthinkable.

Tony phones to Khopkar and informs him of the new and most unexpected development.

Anant advises Nilu to go by the servants’ lift down and wait there whereas he goes to the main lift and moves to the ground floor. Nilu was carrying her bag and Anant was moving free. As they, both reach ground floor Anant takes her to his car both were moving swiftly.

Set of the same hotel where Khopkar, Nanasaheb and Damu had the meeting. Khopkar receives Tony’s phone and is puzzled. What on earth, Anant is doing with Nilu and why Nilu is carrying her bag with her. Is it some sort of running away program of my friend and that with this new bird? Khopkar cannot imagine but then he decides to be at the hotel before any untoward thing happens. This hotel was a walking distance from the hotel Kismis of Anant.
