“What you are
talking I do not understand, what mad girls and who is this girl?”
Anjali pretends as if she does not know Rashmi.
Rashmi graciously
reminds Anjali of the phone call she had made a few days back and
Anjali spoke on the phone and then while Rashmi was talking the phone
got cut. “Do you remember that phone call?”
“Aha, yes, while
talking the phone got disconnected and then the mobile stopped
working.” Anjali somehow adjusted and then told we had to change
that mobile and the number. Yes, I remember. This explanation
satisfied Rashmi and whatever grudge she had for not getting the call
was all dissolved. Rashmi renewed her ideas about this mother of
Rahul and now the final and most important part of the investigation
was to be enacted.
“Where is Rahul’s
father I am anxious to see him because my father and Rahul’s father
carry the same name!”
“He is at work.”
Indifferently Anjali retorts, tells the two children to sit, and went
inside.
Rahul and Rashmi
sit on the sofas and Rahul puts on the TV.
Anjali goes inside
and phones to Anant but his phone is engaged.
Anjali had great
respect for Manorama the first wife of Anant and so to show her
respect she had hung a portrait of Manorama in the drawing room. Now
Anjali remembers that and she is more panicked. She peeps into the
drawing room and sees that the portrait is exactly behind the sofa
where Rashmi is sitting and now Rashmi engrossed in watching a TV
serial.
Anjali plans to
enter the drawing room from other door which is closer to the
portrait and wants to remove the portrait before Rashmi may by chance
happens to see it. A small play between the unaware Rashmi’s
movements and of Anjali a sort of hide and seek for some time and
then Rahul unaware of this, suggests Rashmi to come to his study
where he has prepared some electronic robots.
“Would you mind
coming to my study to see my hobby?” Rahul
“Of course, I
shall be glad to know about your hobby!” Rashmi
They move to
Rahul’s study and the coast is clear for Anjali to remove the photo
of Manorama. Anjali reaches the portrait and tries to remove but the
photo frame is fixed so tight that she can not remove it. This
exasperates Anjali. Finally she goes to see what they are doing there
in Rahul’s study and there she remembers that Anant’s small photo
is on the writing table of Rahul.
Oohh, Anjali is
white with fear and does not know what to do because if Rashmi sees
that photo and ask him everything is finished. She faints and falls
making some yelp. Rahul and Rashmi hear that sound and come out in
the drawing room to see Anjali fainted. Both children are panicked
since they never had such an experience in their life. There were no
servants to call and both look to each other and ask by signs what to
do. Rahul is almost about to start a cry but Rashmi consoles him
asking, if this is a habit with mother.
“No, never, this
has never happened before, my mother is not having any such
complain.” Rahul
“Rahul, I shall
do something, I shall call my Baba (that means Anant) so that he can
help us.” Rashmi
“That
is fine; I will also call my Baba so that both of them can help us
help my Aai.
